City of Espoo 2008
The city of Espoo (2nd largest city of Finland) organized a limited architectural competition of a Café-dressing rooms-maintenance building of Tapionkenttä sports field. The site is located in a demanding urban connection point in between different activities.
The building is located in the protected central area of Tapiola Garden city. The site is bordered by the orthodox church and park, Tapiola school and sport activities and the cultural centre of Tapiola.
The aim of the architectural volume has been sculptural minimalism, with a touch of playfulness.
